Developmental, Behavioral,
and Mental Health

Milestone cares for more than physical symptoms. Visits provide time to discuss developmental progress, learning concerns, school performance, attention, behavior, emotional health, social development, and family concerns.

When additional support is needed, your pediatrician can help guide evaluations for learning disabilities, autism, neuropsychological concerns, therapy, or specialist care.

Vaccines

Milestone believes vaccines are an important part of preventive pediatric care. Your pediatrician will take time to answer questions, review recommendations, and help your family make informed decisions without judgment or unnecessary pressure.

Milestone partners with VaxCare, which bills insurance directly for covered vaccines. Families should review the current vaccine and payment policies before enrolling.

Medical Ear Piercing

Medical ear piercing is available forthose from two months of age through adulthood. A pediatrician performs the piercing in a comfortable setting using the Blomdahl Medical Ear Piercing system. Milestone has used this system for more than 12 years.

What to expect:

  1. Numbing cream is applied to the ear lobes

  2. Placement is carefully marked and reviewed

  3. The skin is cleaned before piercing

  4. Sterile, hypoallergenic piercing studs are used

  5. Families can choose from medical grade plastic and titanium options

  6. Printed aftercare instructions are provided

The needle sharp piercing studs are designed to reduce unnecessary tissue trauma and allow space for healing. The actual piercing is quick and usually feels like pressure or a brief pinch.

Aftercare

The original studs should generally remain in place for six to eight weeks before being replaced with good quality earrings. An earring should remain in the piercing each day during the first year to reduce the risk of the opening closing. There are currently no swimming or routine activity restrictions following the piercing.

Pricing and Scheduling

The current price is $115 for up to two ears and includes the piercing studs, with more than 15 options available. Milestone members schedule directly with their pediatrician. Nonmembers receive the service at the Colorado Springs office near Interstate 25 and Woodmen Road. Families may also ask about an in home piercing gathering for groups of five or more people.

Newborn Services

The first days with a newborn can be joyful, exhausting, and filled with questions. Milestone offers select newborn services without membership so families can receive experienced pediatric guidance while avoiding unnecessary trips to offices and laboratories.

These services are especially helpful after hospital discharge or when your primary pediatrician cannot see your baby promptly.

In Home Newborn Visit ($300)

An experienced pediatrician will examine your baby, check weight and feeding, monitor for jaundice, answer questions, and provide unrushed guidance. When jaundice is a concern, bilirubin testing may be completed in the home. A visit note is sent to your child’s primary pediatrician.

Weight Check and Second Newborn Screen ($300)

This in home visit is available for babies at least eight days old. A pediatrician performs an examination and weight check and collects the second PKU or newborn screening specimen. The results are sent to your child’s primary pediatrician.

Newborn Circumcision ($600)

Newborn circumcision is available for babies up to 30 days old. The procedure is performed by an experienced pediatrician at the Milestone office near Interstate 25 and Woodmen Road. Families receive clear aftercare instructions before leaving.

There is a better way to care for your kids.

Traditional medical practices often mean rushed appointments, long waits for answers, unnecessary trips, missed work and school, and medical bills you did not expect.
